Politics, including and especially the election process, is fast becoming a competitive sport.
Between candidates practically jumping into the octagon for a chance to win an election, to elected officials Tweeting pics of their wieners just like our favorite sports heroes, to the clearly defined “league” system set up by the different political parties (Dems, GOP, Tea Party, whatever Sarah Palin is...) and their inevitable rivalries, the whole damn thing is more like a sporting contest than an actual functional process. This gives me an idea…
The government should set up a bookmaking service on the politics game. Let’s get some gambling going on this thing with the government acting as a nationwide bookmaker. Betcha we could wipe away half the deficit with just one Presidential Election. The best part? The other half of the deficit would be wiped away by taxes on the winnings, and if you didn’t cover your bets properly the IRS could come and break your piggy bank’s knees.
This is funny!
