I love Adam Sandler but I wish he would stop doing these cookie cutter
comedies. I miss the good ol' days when he did Happy Gilmore, Billy
Madison etc. I even thought Little Nicky was pretty damn
funny....stupid, but funny.
Sandler started to head down an interesting
road where he actually tried doing serious acting, which I liked
(despite what many said). Punch Drunk Love wasn't half bad (I'll get
crap for that one I'm sure). Either way, he was doing something
different and like Jim Carrey, I think he can actually act when he wants
to.
Anger Management was more of a high profile comedy because it
had Nicholson. I thought that was pretty funny and he wasn't trying to
steal the show, Nicholson held his own. But these other comedies are
just digging him deep and he's obviously just doing it for the money. If
I were him, I would lay low for a while and just produce lower profile
comedies, starring his friends, like Grandma's Boy, which was awesome.
