All Gummed Up

It is so awesome when people spit out their gum on the sidewalk, or parking lots, or wherever my feet are going to be.

It's even better when I step on their gum. The fresher the better. I love the smell of dirty spearmint coming from under my feet. I usually hope that I don't even notice I've stepped in gum until after I get in my car and get gummy-strings all over the carpet of my car! That's my idea of heaven.

Because, in my humble opinion, there are few things more fun than spending 30 minutes trying to scrape used gum out of the tread of my sneakers using curbs, sticks and other assorted litter by the side of the road.

Honestly, I wouldn't want people to spit their gum out into the bushes or shrubs where I can't get at it. Oh no no no. And I certainly wouldn't want the last person chewing the gum to swallow it (rumor has it that takes 7 years to dissolve) or to keep it in their mouth long enough to find a trash can or ashtray to spit it out into. It's clearly better for them to just get it out of their mouths asap lest their breath become TOO fresh!
